Studies show that many young people in America lack even basic financial knowledge. Many children are not introduced to the concept of budgeting or saving until well into their teen years, therefore losing out on years of opportunities in early childhood to learn about the importance of money, budgeting and saving. Educating youth on how to make money, budget money, and save money will help them to manage their finances, and will provide them with a huge advantage later on in life. One way children develop the financial know-how to save is to open a savings account. This is a guaranteed way to gain financial security, and learn smart money management. Our Saving With A Goal program aims to address the issues we, as a society, have with financial literacy by collaborating with schools and banks to introduce banking concepts to young children by using The Money Tree as a way to connect those dots.
